Hearing that Zack Mullock was going to run for Mayor made my day. Zack, like me, is a Cape May boy. He will bring leadership to Cape May City Council. His background is well suited having a Master’s degree in Business Administration from St. Joe’s University. I believe Zack will run the City in a businesslike manner which will be a major step forward.
The City has many big projects coming up, not to mention the projects that are “hanging fire” right now such as the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park on Columbia Avenue, which to me, has been unsightly and a disgrace this whole summer for our visitors to see. The project should have been completed before Memorial Day.
Then there is the Lafayette Street Park which has not been completed. For the last three and one half years the City Hall windows have been leaking severely after a heavy rain storm. Future projects which are significant are the quarters for a new fire department, the expansion of the Desalination Plant, a new Police Department, seawall upgrades, the Library building at the Franklin Street School, to name a few.
He also supports the Historic Preservation Commission which is important to preserving Cape May’s history as our town is known as a National Historic Landmark City. It is important at this time in Cape May’s history that the City needs better planning and leadership. Zack runs a family business and he knows how important it is to be fiscally responsible. In his 2 years in office he has often thought that things should have been put out to bid to save the taxpayers’ money.
His leadership skills were put to use in the renovation for the Harriet Tubman Museum where he spearheaded and supervised the rehabilitation. He did so without any taxpayer’s money. Zack brought the Community together. As always, when he is involved in any project, Zack’s commitment is 100%.
Knowing him as I do, he will be open and transparent in the way he runs our City government. Everyone who knows him knows he is always fair in all his dealings. Zack’s leadership personality will be a big asset in bringing the community together.
As a former mayor, I highly recommend and endorse Zack Mullock for Mayor, as he is the kind of person Cape May needs at this time. Zack has my 100% backing in the upcoming election.
